Thank you for using the Site www.backstores.ae (which might encompass the mobile app of the same name) (all, the “Site”), and is operated by Backstores FZE (“Backstores”).

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) sets out the basis on which Backstores collects, uses and discloses personal information obtained from you when using the Site.

This Policy is effective from May,2019.

By visiting the Site, and/or by using any services provided via this Site, you expressly agree to be bound by the terms of this Policy and you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your information in accordance with the terms of this Policy.
Backstores may amend this Policy at any time without notice, and such amendments become effective from the date upon which they are made available on the Site.
If you do not agree to the Policy (including any of the amendments), then you should immediately cease using the Site. If you choose to limit the way in which you want Backstores to collect, use or disclose any information, then you acknowledge that some aspects of the Site may not be available to you.

YOUR INFORMATION

The type of information Backstores will collect from you is either personal to you, or is general in nature:
(i) “Personal Information”: When you visit the Site or use any services provided through the Site, you may be asked to provide information about yourself including your name, Emirates ID card (copy and number), contact details and payment information such as credit or debit card information. Backstores may also collect information about your use of the Site and information about you from the messages you post to the Site and from the e-mails you send to us.
(ii) “General Information”: With each visit to the Site, Backstores will automatically collect technical information, including your login information, the IP address that you use to log in, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, and the operating system and platform. Backstores will also maintain information about your visit, including a log of the pages that you visit in our Site, your clicks to and from the Site, page response times, download errors and other information about your use of the Site.

COLLECTING AND USING INFORMATION

Backstores uses General Information to help make the Site more useful to visitors (including to help assess content of interest to visitors), and for other purposes such as determining the Site’s technical design specifications and identifying system performance or problem areas, for tracking activity on the Site, preparing reports, assessing trends, and otherwise monitoring the way in which the Site is being used – none of which would be in a way that could personally identify any user.

In addition, Backstores uses Personal Information for a range of business-related purposes, including:
(iii) account registration (eg. your name, mobile number and email address);
(iv) registration for events that are held at our venues;
(v) provide you with newsletters, service related announcements or other notifications or emails relation to the Site or our services or products;
(vi) billing information, transaction and credit/debit card information (if you make a purchase with Backstores); and
(vii) participation in any promotions or competitions that may be run by Backstores;
(viii) information regarding your interests, demographics, experiences and contact preferences in order to provide you with further correspondence about available products and services.

If you contact Backstores via the Site, or via email to the contacts set out on the Site, Backstores may keep a record of that correspondence.
In general, Backstores uses both the Personal Information and the General Information to:
(ix) provide you with the services, and in particular to keep internal records;
(x) improve the products and services, and provide this Site;
(xi) communicate with you if you have ordered products or services from Backstores;
(xii) contact you for market research purposes; and
(xiii) provide you with information about new products, promotions, special offers and other information.

NON-DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

You agree that Backstores may share your Personal Information with any suppliers or subcontractors (“Suppliers”) that are assisting Backstores with the operation of the Site and who have agreed to abide by the terms of this policy. By submitting your Personal Information you agree to this transfer, storing and processing.
You agree that Backstores may share your Personal Information with its advertising partners and sponsors (together “Sponsors”) who are involved in events at Backstores venues.
Please note however that Backstores will only provide this Personal Information to Sponsors after:
(xiv) your name [and other personally identifying information] has been removed;
(xv) it has been combined with data from other Site users in such as way that it cannot be readily associated with you; and
(xvi) the Sponsor in question has agreed to abide by the terms of this policy

By submitting your Personal Information you agree to this transfer, storing and processing.
Backstores will not otherwise share, sell or rent your Personal Information. However, if Backstores is required to disclose Personal Information by law or any governing authority or to protect its own legitimate interests, Backstores agrees that it will use reasonable endeavours to seek your express permission to such a disclosure.
You may choose to provide your Personal Information to the Suppliers or other users of the Site and, in this case, Backstores is not liable for the manner in which that Supplier or third party deals with your Personal Information. Backstores recommends that you clearly establish the way in which that Supplier or third party can use your Personal Information before you provide it to them.
If Backstores enters into a joint venture with, purchases or is sold to or merged with another business entity, your Personal Information may be disclosed or transferred to the target company, our new business partners or owners or their advisors.

SECURITY

Keeping your Personal Information secure and preventing unauthorized access to that Personal Information is of utmost priority to Backstores. Backstores will take all steps reasonably necessary to protect your Personal Information against any unauthorised access, use, alteration, disclosure or destruction. Whilst Backstores has put in place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to secure and safeguard your Personal Information, Backstores cannot be held responsible for any unauthorised access by third parties and Backstores cannot guarantee that the Personal Information provided by you or that is transmitted via this Site or by e-mail or otherwise online is totally secure and safe.
Where you have chosen a password which allows you to access certain parts of the Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. Backstores advises that you do not share this password with anyone.

COOKIES

The Site uses cookies, which are files that, from time to time, store information on your hard drive that allow a Site to recognize users, track new users and to record session information. Most browsers are automatically set to accept cookies but if you choose you can disable the cookies from your browser. This may affect the operation of the Site in a minor way only.

The Site may provide links to other third party Sites not within the control of Backstores. Backstores advises you to exercise caution, and review and understand the privacy policy of each such Site before submitting any of your Personal Information to them.
In addition, the existence of such a link does not in any way indicate that Backstores endorses or otherwise supports the third party Site or any material contained within that third party Site. All users should exercise caution and undertake appropriate investigations before interacting with the third party Site in any manner.

APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION

This Policy, as well as your access to the Site, is subject to and governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Any dispute regarding this Policy or the handling of your Personal Information and General Information will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts in Abu Dhabi.
